Nutrition and Hydration Week 2014 – A global challange

Nutrition Hydration Week 2014Its Nutrition and Hydration Week 2014 and here at Anglia Crown we have been taking up the challenge.

Our own in-house Dietitian, Ruth Smith, was privileged to be chosen as a campaign ambassador for her role in helping to promote the week to her colleagues and  sharing examples of good practice. She has been hard at work this week, encouraging participation and engagement with the campaign, and seeking opportunities to support local organisations whilst also acting as a spokesperson for the campaign.

Posters and flyers were created and sent out, and a food tasting took place at Bradford Hospital. Ruth and her team have been sending out daily emails with nutrition and hydration advice, which you can see here, and don’t forget to check back next for Ruth’s Nutrition and Hydration review.

Nutrition and Hydration Week was set up as a collaboration between Hospital Caterers Association (HCA), National Association of Care Catering (NACC) and Patient Safety First . It aims to:

Create a global movement that will reinforce and focus energy, activity and engagement on nutrition and hydration as an important part of quality care, experience and safety improvement in health and social care settings”.

Anglia Crown and its team are delighted to support the initiative, and pledges to help raise awareness of the importance of nutrition and hydration as an essential element of care wherever it can.
